Medium pink color with orange highlights. Aromas of quince, dried strawberry, and orange. Medium body with refreshing acidity and soft tannins. Tangerine, bitter orange, lemon and grapefruit!
This family-run winery, located in Skilloundia, has started to rock the wine scene with their impressive wines – particularly the orange varieties. The business has been active since 1982, but since 2001, the vineyards have been cultivated organically, and given a DIO certification.
For Markogiannis, orange wines began as an experiment, but they have slowly managed to conquer their audience! Roditis from 30-year-old vines gives the juice which stays with the skins for 12 days (red vinification) and then ferments in stainless steel tanks. It is bottled without sulphites or other interventions and the result is simply magical.
